Business Continuity Plan (BCP) measures related to the disruption of industrial water supply during major earthquakes.

overview

No matter how many fixed backup facilities are prepared, in the event of a major earthquake and tsunami like the Great East Japan Earthquake, equipment, piping, and power sources could be destroyed all at once, potentially resulting in the loss of all backup capabilities. Therefore, the ultimate backup system should be a mobile facility that is always stored in a safe location away from the plant.
Our company handles large-diameter, specialized hoses that can be used in a variety of situations.
By combining this hose with a continuously operating engine-driven pump, a completely self-sufficient backup system that can withstand power outages becomes possible.
In particular, Super Aqua Duct Hose is also used in large-capacity foam fire extinguishing systems, and with a diameter of 300mm, it can withstand a working pressure of 1.2MPa, making it a hose that can withstand use comparable to piping.

Cooling water supply

By pre-installing connection ports near the equipment to prepare for the possibility of a rupture in the piping line supplying seawater for cooling the equipment, it is possible to ensure a continuous supply of water to the heat exchanger (cooling device).

Supply of industrial water and drinking water

By installing connection ports near the equipment in advance, it is possible to ensure a continuous supply of water to each piece of equipment in case of a rupture in the piping lines supplying industrial or drinking water from a well.

01 Duke PowerOconee Nuclear Facility (USA)
(For supplying water to nuclear power facilities)

300mm Super Aqua Duct hoses were adopted as a bypass system connecting the turbine buildings of a nuclear power plant. The hoses are connected with Victaulic couplings and deliver water at a flow rate of 22,000 to 33,000 L/min at least once a day.

02 Ekilon Refinery(Martinez, California, USA)
(For industrial water supply)

Super AquaDuct hoses have been adopted for use in a refinery's dewatering system. In this system, 300mm diameter hoses are connected in 20m units using Victaulic couplings to a 125 horsepower submersible pump. This equipment is a selenium dewatering system and is still in use.
The pump has been started and stopped more than 1,000 times over approximately four years, and once started, it can flow 22,000 liters of water per minute.
This project is a good example of the superiority of Super Aqua Duct Hose compared to other hoses.
In similar equipment, heavy rubber hoses (4-5 times heavier than Super Aqua Duct hoses) were previously used with flange connections every 6 meters, resulting in significant vibrations when the pump was started.
Furthermore, problems arose where cracks would appear in a short period of time due to sunlight and weather changes, and couplings would detach from the hoses.

03 Train ChilerSource (USA)
(For industrial water supply)

ChilerSource is one of the world's leading air conditioning rental companies. Since 1995, they have used over 4,800 meters of 200mm and 250mm Super Aqua Duct hoses, which are used to transport cooling water from mobile cooling units.
