US Air Force evaluation
Chemicil hoses have earned a reputation as a uniquely lightweight, special hose that is resistant to damage and easy to handle, and have been adopted by the U.S. Air Force.
According to the United States Air Force Research Laboratory, the previous hoses were prone to delamination and were heavy despite their thinness, limiting their use to only 100 feet (approximately 30 meters) per hose. Therefore, they searched for and compared 17 hose manufacturers from around the world. When considering the use of JP-8 fuel, five companies (seven hoses in total) were selected, including ANGUS's Chemicil and Offshore 850.
Because significant friction during use was anticipated, the outer surface of the hose was further coated with polyester as a countermeasure. Subsequently, when the weight of selected hoses of the same diameter was measured, ANGUS's hose was found to be the lightest. Furthermore, in actual field use, it was evaluated as being resistant to damage, lightweight, and easy to handle, leading to its adoption by the U.S. Air Force.
