Watering/Water Curtain

overview

We will conduct simulations using our proprietary program under windy conditions for water spraying and water curtain systems, which are designed to block radiant heat and suppress gas diffusion during plant disasters and accidents. This will verify the validity of the radiation pattern and whether the shielding capacity (height and thickness) of the water curtain is sufficient.

Use the 3D viewer to make simulation results more "realistic".

By using the dedicated "FM Viewer," you can freely manipulate the simulation results on your PC. You can pinpoint and zoom in on the area you want to see, dramatically improving your understanding of the analysis accuracy compared to conventional still images.

Services offered: Tank fire extinguishing / Radiant heat calculation / Water and foam discharge

Further details are explained on the FM Viewer introduction page.

Example 1: Three-dimensional arrangement of water spray nozzles

The diagram below shows an example of watering using a vertical drum spray system, created as a 3D model in AutoCAD. Using an FM viewer, you can zoom in on the water spray to check for the presence of dry spots.

Example 2: Water curtain system between tanks

The diagram below shows an example of an LNG tank fire, demonstrating whether adjacent tanks can be adequately protected by a water curtain system installed on a containment dike.

Example 3: Protection of a chilling tower from radiant heat intensity during a tank fire

The diagram below shows a water curtain system used to protect the chilling tower because of the short distance between the tank and the chilling tower. You can check whether the height and thickness of the water curtain are sufficient.
